My name is Heather and I'm an Aquaholic. I don't know how it happened, although oddly I think it was when I turned 21 that I began to drink water like a fish. (Do fish drink water? Anyway...) I never liked alcohol, so rather than getting sodas or sugary juices out at clubs and bars, I would get my usual water with lemon. Then, many years ago, I cut out caffeine. So, aside from some fruit juices, water is my go-to all day. And, I go to it A LOT which means I buy a lot!
When I was a kid, it was nothing to get a glass of water from the sink. Tap water is probably what I would drink until I was a teenager. I even loved water from the hose in my backyard in the summer. Well, as you probably know, after drinking pure natural spring water, it's hard to have a glass of tap water because there is a huge noticeable difference - the taste is awful. And, have you ever been out of water bottles and had no choice but to drink the tap water?!?! You get what I mean then. At the same time, to cut costs, choosing tap would be the most cost-efficient of the two. I mean, after all, I HAVE the water here ready to go. I just need to grab a glass. Think about it. I drink at least a case of water (28 bottles) by myself each week. That can add up and be money saved when it's readily available to you.
Being gifted with the New Brita Stream to review, I got excited, but was hesitant. I remembered having a square-shaped pitcher with a spout that filtered water once before and it was a royal pain to keep filling it up and constantly changing the filter, and quite frankly, I didn't feel as though the water tasted much different. This one though, peaked my interest. For starters, it's a practical pitcher with a filter that only needs replacing about once a month. There's a button on the top that when pressed, will let you know what percentage it is at and when you need a new one. It was super easy to put together and I was really happy when I tried my first cold glass of filtered water. Delicious! You can absolutely notice the difference the filter makes. This new Brita, in fact, filters 10x faster...as you pour! It takes the harshness of the tap water away completely. It compares equally to bottled water in my eyes. So now, I don't have to spend money buying water each week (which is crazy when you think about it...kinda like buying air...we shouldn't have to). But anyway, my water is something I have available at all times. I just filter it. Thanks to Brita, I can keep my healthy habit going and have some extra money for my lemons.
While I received this product complimentary, the opinions are my own.
