Heading to a Summer Wedding?

Summer weddings are so exciting! And maybe that's because guests are able to let loose a bit more since laid-back attire seems to be able to squeak by with no penalties. With a large amount of summer wedding and reception locations being outside at places like the beach, a garden, a lake, or in a barn, guests tend to opt for dresses that don't host tons of beads or sequins or extra fabric. Guests also enjoy dressing for the location and theme - possibly a more airy dress for a beach wedding, a pattern for a bohemian or garden wedding, something tropical perhaps for a destination wedding. Call me crazy (hey, I heard that), but I've always liked to "dance in the rain". Figuratively, at least. Although on rare occasions, if the mood's right, there's no stopping me splashing through puddles. Today is a rainy day. And, from the looks of the newsfeed on my social media, everyone is feeling let down and drab. So, why not "dance" in the rain? Make your own sunshine! Start by carrying a super cute umbrella that makes you smile! Come on! Us girls especially love our accessories! And, rainy days are great for shopping too! Interpretations of the "In Between"

For a girl who squeals over costumes because she just can't have enough tulle, sequins, and feathers (I would literally roll around in those all day if I could) and a slight obsession with gowns (just a slight one), I anticipate and love seeing masterpieces come to life on the Red Carpet of the Met Gala! It's one of the greatest costume parties of the year because there's so much art and creativity brought about by designers.

This year's theme was "'The Art of In Between' by Rei Kawakubo". The idea was to give you almost an unsettling feeling as you see unconventional gowns created by a clashing of designs. I had my own interpretation of these designs and wanted to share my favorites from the evening. Imagine creating an outfit to make one feel uncomfortable and somewhat weary, but to have them look STELLAR at the same time! These stars were all around and "in between" stunning!!!
